  • Contract to May 30th 2027
We are currently seeking an experienced ICT Procurement Manager to join a NSW Government organisation on a 14-month contract. This is a senior, hands-on role leading ICT procurement and contract management activities across a growing portfolio of work. You will take ownership of the ICT procurement category, managing a pipeline of sourcing activity ranging from smaller hardware/software procurements through to complex, multi-million dollar ICT and managed services engagements. You will operate with a high level of autonomy, working closely with senior stakeholders and taking responsibility for clearing a significant procurement backlog while supporting ongoing and future demand.

The role:
  • Lead end-to-end ICT procurement activities across the full category
  • Take ownership of a growing sourcing pipeline and procurement backlog
  • Manage procurement processes from planning through to contract execution
  • Work across a range of ICT procurements including cloud, managed services and large-scale vendor engagements (up to ~$15M)
  • Provide high-level advice and briefing notes to senior stakeholders, including C-suite and the Electoral Commissioner
  • Lead and support a small team (2 direct reports) and collaborate across procurement and finance
  • Operate in a lean environment with limited support, requiring a self-sufficient, hands-on approach
  • Partner closely with senior leadership, with a dotted line into the Director
Key skills and experience required:
  • Strong experience in ICT procurement within NSW Government
  • Deep understanding of NSW Procurement Framework, policies and governance
  • Experience across ICT procurement schemes (e.g. Core&, ICTA/MICTA)
  • Proven ability to manage complex, high-value procurement end-to-end
  • Ability to work autonomously and “get into the detail” where required
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including experience engaging at executive level
  • Experience managing contract outcomes, supplier performance and procurement risk
  • Strong written skills, including preparation of high-quality briefing materials
About you:
  • A hands-on procurement professional who can hit the ground running
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-demand environment
  • You will bring energy, initiative and a proactive approach to delivery
  • Experienced managing competing priorities and working through backlog
  • Background in procurement management (not purchasing/transactional roles)
Working environment:
  • Hybrid working – typically Tuesday plus one additional day in office
  • Supportive leadership style with autonomy once established
  • Outcomes-focused, flexible and collaborative culture
  • Strong emphasis on psychological safety and team support

This is a strong opportunity to step into a key NSW Government ICT procurement leadership role within a NSW Government department going through growth, with potential longer-term opportunities available. For more information or a confidential discussion, lease submit your CV via SEEK and you will be contacted for a further chat tomorrow morning if your profile is deemed a suitable match.
