Our client is a health-technology and data-analytics company, headquartered in Singapore with a footprint across APAC. They build AI-powered products that help healthcare and insurance organisations turn complex data into faster, better decisions. This is a hands-on senior engineering role on a team taking generative-AI solutions from prototype to production in a regulated, enterprise data environment.
You'll work end-to-end, designing architectures, shipping production services, and owning quality, security and governance, in close partnership with product, data and business teams.
What you'll do
Build and ship generative-AI applications. Design and deploy LLM-powered applications on leading foundation models. Implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) using vector databases, embeddings and semantic search. Build AI agents, copilots, chatbots and workflow automation. Develop the prompts, evaluation frameworks and orchestration pipelines that keep model output reliable, and expose it all through clean APIs and cloud-native services.
Turn documents and unstructured data into value. Build intelligent document-processing pipelines using document-intelligence and OCR services — extracting, classifying, validating and transforming both structured and unstructured content. Integrate supporting AI capabilities (vision, speech, language, translation) where they add value, backed by robust validation.
Own platform, security and governance. Design scalable AI architectures on Azure (and, where relevant, multi-cloud). Apply Responsible-AI practices, governance, privacy and compliance from the start. Monitor performance, cost, latency and hallucination, and stand up the CI/CD, MLOps/LLMOps and observability that make solutions dependable in production.
Drive innovation with the business. Partner with stakeholders to identify and prioritise high-impact AI opportunities, run POCs and pilots through to production, and bring a well-informed point of view on emerging tools and techniques.
What we're looking for
- 5+ years in software, cloud, data or AI engineering, including 2+ years hands-on with generative AI / LLM solutions.
- A track record of delivering enterprise-scale AI or data-driven solutions into production.
- Demonstrable, hands-on production experience with Azure OpenAI and/or OpenAI, plus at least one other major foundation model (e.g. Google Gemini or Anthropic Claude).
- Practical experience implementing RAG architectures with vector databases (e.g. Azure AI Search, Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma), embeddings and semantic search.
- Strong Python development, plus REST API and SDK integration.
- Experience with an LLM orchestration framework — LangChain and/or Semantic Kernel.
- Hands-on with Azure cloud services (e.g. AI Search, Functions, App Services, Container Apps, Storage, Key Vault) and document-intelligence / OCR tooling.
- Solid DevOps foundations: version control, CI/CD, and MLOps/LLMOps practices.
- Working understanding of Responsible AI, model evaluation, governance, privacy and compliance.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, AI, Data Science or a related field.
- Candidates must have the legal right to work in Singapore at the time of application.
Nice to have
- Agentic AI and advanced orchestration (e.g. LangGraph, LlamaIndex).
- Multimodal AI (vision, speech, video).
- Model fine-tuning and evaluation.
- Containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge graphs, or low-code AI integration platforms.
- Prior exposure to a regulated data domain (healthcare, insurance or financial services).
The person
We're after a pragmatic builder who is current on a fast-moving field and translates it into real business value — someone who designs for scale, cost and maintainability, communicates clearly across technical and non-technical audiences, makes decisions from data and evaluation, and thrives in a fast-changing scale-up environment.
Location
Singapore-based; Candidates must have the legal right to work in Singapore at the time of application.
