Our client is a large general insurer offering Retail Motor Vehicle Insurance and Commercial Insurance throughout Australia. They are embarking on a strategic enterprise-wide digital transformation program to modernize their core insurance technology landscape.
About the role
The Finance Business Analyst will act as the key link between Finance and delivery teams, ensuring solutions meet accounting, regulatory, and business requirements. A primary focus is supporting the design and implementation of financial integrations between Guidewire and the organisation’s General Ledger platform, ensuring accurate, complete, and auditable financial data flows.
The role plays a critical part in enabling journal postings, reconciliations, financial reporting, and seamless integration between insurance platforms and downstream finance systems.
What's Required
The ideal candidate will be a Finance-aligned Business Analyst with a solid experience and understanding of the general insurance industry, including awareness of relevant standards, legislation and regulatory considerations.
More specifically they will have the following skills and experience:
- A tertiary qualification in Business, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Well-developed knowledge of business analysis tools, techniques and methodologies.
- A strong understanding of the system development lifecycle and technology delivery practices.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- Familiarity with Guidewire modules (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter) is desirable.
- Experience working with Guidewire BillingCenter (or Guidewire suite), including an understanding of billing processes and system capabilities is ideal.
- Knowledge of API technologies (REST, JSON, XML, event-driven architectures).
- Understanding of Agile delivery practices and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Experience working on enterprise-scale platform implementations and/or within regulated environments is advantageous.
