Insights from Ethos BeathChapman’s survey of over 100 mid to senior-level banking and financial services professionals in Singapore
Change and lingering uncertainty encapsulate 2020 for banking and financial services professionals in Singapore. Although most professionals within the industry experienced increased workload and demands brought on by Covid-19, the pandemic left them relatively unscathed compared to counterparts in other industries.
Compared to replacement hires made last year for essential roles, 2021 rebounded swiftly from 2020’s conservative job market. In just a year, Singapore’s banking and financial services recruitment landscape swung from an employer-led market into a candidate-led talent-short one, where companies are struggling to hire quality candidates across all job functions and seniority.
Between December 2020 and April 2021, Ethos BeathChapman surveyed over 100 mid to senior-level industry professionals in Singapore for insights into 2021’s banking and financial services recruitment market and the state of the industry, as it stands today.
In addition to employer insights for banks, insurers, and financial institutions recruiting in 2021 and career advice to jobseekers on upskilling for success, this report also analyses perspectives relating to professionals' top career concerns in 2021, as well as the industry's top challenges:
