EBC's growth to be supported by long-term strategic investment

January 30, 2017 - As part of its long term strategic vision, Ethos BeathChapman (EBC) has secured the financial backing of a significant investor following the acquisition of a majority shareholding in its business by Tokyo-listed Will Group.

The move begins the next chapter for the former Ethos Corporation and BeathChapman businesses following their 2014 merger.

EBC Australia managing director, Andrew Keayes, said, “We formed the Ethos Advisory Board in 2013 to ensure continual evolvement and sustainability. As a product we have actively driven increased scale, grown our annuity revenue streams, developed our leadership capability and broadened our geographic footprint. Today’s announcement is the natural next step in our evolution. The business is the strongest it’s ever been and the prosperity and engagement of our staff has never been higher, we are simply delighted to be part of the Will Group family.”

EBC Asia managing director, Matt Beath, added, “Will Group has a strong presence in Japan and other Asian markets. Their networks and corporate support will serve to enable EBC’s growth in these markets whilst we provide them with the strategic addition of a significant executive recruitment brand in Asia.  This investment will create significant career opportunities for our team, and the founders are delighted to commit to the business for the long term.”

Will Group CEO, Ryosuke Ikeda, stated, “Over the next 10 years we are looking to become a truly global business and we are delighted to have this opportunity to partner with EBC. Over the last two years we have made investments in Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar and now proudly Australia. We were attracted to the integrity, knowledge and passion that Andrew and Matt have to further grow their businesses, coupled with the quality of reputation the EBC business enjoys in the marketplace. We are excited to support their ongoing growth, whether that be via additional business lines or taking EBC into different geographies”.

EBC were advised and introduced to Will Group by MergeCo International, who have also convened the EBC Advisory Board since 2013. Keayes and Beath have been appointed to the new EBC Board on behalf of the existing shareholder group.
