EBC and EBC Connect are looking for a key new senior appointment as our APJ Head of Talent Acquisition and Early Development. This is a progressive definition of what can be a tired and overly traditional role - we need someone who can both a) attract the best talent but also b) own and take responsibility to set this new talent on the right early development paths.

It is not just finding great people, it is about personally driving yourself and working with senior internal stakeholders to ensure they start the journey in the most impactful way possible to become even better.

Attracting the Best, Sustainably

You’d be responsible for attracting the best possible new employees across all role types here in both businesses. This is from the senior leadership team through consultants, support functions (finance, HR, administration), researchers & resourcers, client account managers, IT roles (including analytics, data programmers etc) marketing, internships & graduate hiring and so on and forth. How can we acquire top performers in the market sustainably? A dimension to this part of the role is the strategic development and digitalization of the function. Developing content, market maps, career matrices and so forth are essential to ensuring a stedy flow of highest calibre staff.

Putting our Best Foot Forward

Past this, the role also includes responsibility for early induction and onboarding of all new hires too. Getting our newly acquired employees used to our ways of working, culture, tools at their disposal and so forth. We often ask ourselves - how will the sizzle match the sell? EBC and EBC Connect dare to be different – how can we ensure our new joiners have the most impactful possible beginnings in the start of the journey, and how do we track this and keep improving upon it. 

Geographically, the role covers our Asia regional (SG, HK, PHP, China and JPN) to begin with and eventually global (EBC Europe and potentially North America too). It would also cover our sister company EBC Connect, founded 2 years ago and currently growing at pace.

We are looking for someone that has good experience of talent acquisition roles and/or functions, probably circa 5-10 years of experience and ideally some gained within an SME sized company environment. Applicants must have the ability to interact with a wide range of people, across nationalities, backgrounds and seniorities – Mandarin and/or Japanese language skills would be a huge plus. A passion for people development, operational effectiveness, high performance, technological centricity and making business impact are all also highly valued.
