Our client is a fully digitalised lending disruptor / FinTech start-up backed by a major bank. They’re looking for a commercially astute Compliance Manager to join a highly experienced team. The successful candidate will enjoy the full autonomy of exercising their compliance expertise to innovate and drive changes, making an impact by solving problems.
 
Open to Melbourne or Sydney candidates as flexible and smart working are strongly encouraged.


The Responsibilities
  • Support the maintenance of Compliance Monitoring Plan and perform controls effectiveness testing.
  • Interpret legislations which are applicable to the business, evaluate compliance and translate requirements to other teams (IT, Product, Sales etc.)
  • Proactively update obligations register to reflect current and emerging laws and regulations.
  • Identify issues and assess the impacts of regulatory change.
  • Assist the Head of Compliance in the development and review of policies and procedures in light of regulatory developments.
  • Participation in Compliance initiatives and projects to strengthen the Compliance Program.
  • Advise and embed compliance across the business.
  • Manage licensing and registration related matters.
  • Participate in project initiatives and new strategies in an Agile working environment.
About you

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Compliance, Governance, Risk or Audit.
  • Excellent knowledge of key regulations including ASIC obligations, Privacy Act, ADI obligations and Banking Code of Practice.
  • Proven ability to understand operational and compliance risks inherent or emerging in a business area, to assess the level of risk.
  • Commercially astute, with the ability to translate compliance into simple language and convey across to other teams.
  • Self motivated and passionate about making a positive impact.
  • Ability to establish credibility and strong partnerships working in a cohesive team environment.
  • IT literacy – understanding of digital, platform, data etc is highly looked upon.
