Our client a leading Insurance Company have an opportunity for a Senior Procurement Manager IT to join their Sydney team on an initial 12 month fixed term contract (sick and holiday pay included) with potential for extension.
The primary scope of the role is focused on IT spend category, with requirements to support procurement activities across other spend areas from time to time.
Responsible for delivering sustainable procurement value through category management including strategic sourcing, key improvement initiatives, commercial negotiations and driving supplier management activities


Day to day responsibilities:

  • Planning and managing the end-to-end lifecycle for assigned procurement categories, developing value generation strategies and delivering projects and programmes to translate these strategies into bottom line benefits for the Organisation
  • Leading and managing strategic sourcing activities, negotiations, tender evaluation and key initiatives through to contracting and implementation.
  • Deliver the Supplier Management Framework and associated activities, including 3rd party risk management in collaboration with business stakeholders
  • Collaborative engagement with business stakeholders, procurement colleagues and supplier representatives to achieve best value outcomes
  • Support business stakeholders as a trusted business partner, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adoption of change both within the Procurement team and across the organisation.
  • Provide insights to the business on the supply market, spend, performance, opportunities & risks to support informed decision making.

Essential Criteria:

  • 5 years' experience in procurement (Category or Sourcing Manager) required - minimum 2 years in the  IT space.
  • Significant business, commercial and financial acumen
  • A strong understanding of customer experience and customer centricity principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly build relationships with key stakeholders, working across organisational structures with a confident, collaborative, results oriented approach.
  • Advanced knowledge of Procurement practices and driving value from vendors.
  • Experience producing and measuring cost savings within a cross-functional team environment.
  • Ability to use commercial and quantitative data to manage category performance as well as supplier performance
