Looking for a Senior Risk Officer to start ASAP and work directly with the Risk Manager for a leading Government organisation. Administrative experience is also higly desirable. 
  • 9am - 5pm flexible WFH arrangements.
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Duration: 6 Months initial contract
  • 5 + years Risk Experience essential
  • Government experience desirable.

The successful applicant will work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organisation to implement and drive the continuous improvement of the business enterprise risk management framework. This role will assist and coordinate the monitoring, escalation and reporting of risks and internal controls and facilitate the organisational awareness and response to emerging risks and potential disruptors. This role will also assist with the coordination of the business continuity management program acrossthe organisation.

This role requires someone who can coordinate the oversight and assessment of risk controls to support a second line approach to the assurance of appropriate controls across the organisation being in place, as well as undertake research, analyse issues, and recommend changes to policies and procedures, in line with changes to organisational strategy, regulatory requirements and best practice.

Key knowledge and experience:
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent relevant experience in a risk management role.
  • Demonstrated application of contemporary risk management approaches and practices, including supporting systems to monitor and report on an enterprise-wide risk and controls program.
  • Demonstrated experience working with stakeholders to deliver training and awareness programs.
  • Demonstrated skills building relationships with stakeholders towards influencing and communicating, both oral and written, on complex issues and technical subjects.
  • Experience providing advice and engaging with senior executives and staff at all levels across an organisation, on risk management and/or business continuity outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities in a complex, dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills to develop and implement solutions to risk and controls management issues and systems challenges.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills, and the capacity to successfully manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Government experience desirable but not essential.
