Ethos Beathchapman in partnership with one of our key financial services clients is currently seeking a Program Manager with credit risk management (retail or wholesale) expertise to uplift internal risk systems.  

The initial engagement is a 12-month contract with the view to extend. Contract or permanent opportunities available.
 
You will lead a cross-functional project team to deliver significant change to Credit Risk assessment systems and processes.  Your role will develop relationships across the business sponsors and stakeholders including technology, credit functions and vendor relationship/s.    Responsibilities also include resourcing, managing the project team, ensuring adequate resourcing, skills and structure to deliver the project on time and on budget.   

Engagement will be critical with appropriate subject matter experts to fully understand business and technical requirements and ensure the vendor solution meets these requirements.
 
What skills will you bring?
  • Experience as a Program Manager, ideally with experience in the Credit Risk domain. Given the far-reaching implications of this project, you will ideally have prior experience working with IT in a Bank and proven experience in successfully delivering complex projects working with a cross-functional team.
  • Proven ability to succeed in a multi/senior stakeholder environment, with strong relationship building and influencing skills and the ability to manage conflicting needs and priorities among stakeholders
  • Proven track record in successfully delivering highly visible projects involving significant change management across geographically dispersed stakeholders, preferably with a >$10m budget in a risk or central support (i.e. finance, operations) function of a major financial institution.
  • IT literate, with prior experience in process and technology improvement projects
  • Knowledge of credit risk concepts and wholesale / corporate credit risk systems, preferably in an investment banking environment
  • Tenacity and flexibility with the ability to manage and priorities a number of activities simultaneously
Knowledge and Experience: 
  • Experience with Credit Risk, Basel framework or regulatory experience
  • Exposure to credit risk management (retail or wholesale), modelling or methodology
  • Data Migration
  • Compliance or Risk project experience
  • A strong understanding of technology and business systems strategically and operationally. 
  • Regulatory projects ideally IFRIS 9, Basel II, Credit Risk, APS113, APS112, APS221
  • Business, Accounting or IT related tertiary qualification
