Overview
Our client is a leading, independent Australian commercial law firm.

Purpose

The Senior Business Analyst identifies, analyses and documents the organisation's business intentions, services, processes and information needs to identify changes that lead to business improvements.
The SBA is an intermediary between the end-users and Technology to ensure that requirements are documented and understood and solutions deliver highly usable well tested solutions.
The SBA is responsible for contributing to the Business Process Improvement initiative across the firm working with the Service Delivery, Project and other teams across the organisation.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate up-to-date expertise in Information Technology Systems and apply this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices.
  • Work with relevant internal teams to scope out projects to improve efficiency of the firm's processes.
  • Lead workshops and interviews to conduct business process analysis, gather requirements and conduct gap analysis and present summary of findings.
  • Identify key stakeholders through stakeholder analysis and then develop and implement requirements elicitation techniques that best match the given business initiative and project.
  • Work closely with the project management team to analyse and recommend strategies for dealing with inter-project dependencies in a multi project environment.
  • Coordination of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure the overall efficiency, functionality, and useability of system enhancement/development.
  • Provide analytic support by coordinating data extraction from various databases and data interpretation.

  • Sound ability to analyse, isolate and interpret business needs and develop appropriate technical and functional requirements.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visio and Jira, specifically Kanban boards.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and work under pressure.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in a legal or professional services environment.
