Out client is a major general insurance group currently undergoing a number of major business and finance transformation programs.  As such they are looking an experienced Senior Accounting & Finance professional with deep general insurance experience and exposure within transformation programs to join the program in a newly created finance product owner position. 

This role will act as a conduit between finance and accounting, technology, finance transformation and business transformation and will focus on the following:

  • Be responsible for driving finance outcomes across all streams and being a central contact point between Finance and the Transformation Program teams.
  • Provide and facilitate wider finance input by attending regular stand ups, sprint planning sessions and facilitating SME advice as required.
  • Work closely with other Product owners across transformation to drive collaboration an to provide a single view of Finance defects, incidents and risks.
  • Work closely with the business transition team on ensuring consistent approach, design and implementation of the dual mode of operation change management, communications and training.
  • Ensure key financial controls are designed, embedded and functioning efficiently for areas of responsibility.
  • Lead and drive improvement opportunities to deliver increases business efficiency and effectiveness for finance teams.
  • Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships and deliver timely project reporting updates to key stakeholders.
  • Deliver program and finance objectives within agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Guide and support the team in defining, prioritising, designing, developing, testing and implementing solutions.
  • Ensure continuous and effective communication to relevant team members, stakeholders and colleagues throughout the project.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with Transformation team members, and across the group, to translate business requirements into best practice and seamless embedment.
  • Monitor and solicit feedback regarding workstreams to identify opportunities for optimisation

Required experience:
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline with relevant accreditations such as Chartered Accountant (CA).
  • Extensive Finance experience in a people leadership role for a complex, matrixed general insurance organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing finance projects.
  • Highly developed consulting and influencing skills, demonstrating the ability to co-create strategy and valuable
    analytical solutions with key business stakeholders.
  • Ability to interpret and analyse complex information, extract meaningful insights and evaluate options for decision
    making.
