As part of this positive and exciting period of transformation, the University is looking for two Domain Architects to join an evolving team and take senior roles in defining the Enterprise Architecture covering business, application, information and technology architecture.
 
As a Domain Architect you will be given the enviable opportunity to help shape and define new strategic initiatives and investment in technology that will cover a variety of strategic areas, with consideration on user experience, accessibility, cyber security and quality.

The Role:
Reporting to the Head of Architecture, the Domain Architect will provide architecture and strategy consulting services to senior business stakeholders, understand business objectives and current architecture state, and design transition architecture states to fulfill the needs and strategic goals of the University. 
 
You will build relationships with senior business stakeholders across faculties and divisions to understand their needs and build a consensus for direction and solutions. You will represent assigned domain(s) at Architectural Governance forums, reduce technology duplication, and develop and promote guidelines for the use of technologies within your assigned domain(s).

Experience needed for the position:
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and success working in large IT teams within complex organisational environments, and in leading highly strategic and transformational IT and business initiatives
  • Prior Experience in using architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, ZACHMANN
  • Advanced understanding and knowledge of tools and technologies including the unique research requirements, challenges and emerging trends
  • Extensive knowledge of the technology landscape in terms of key players and best practices
  • Proven experience collaborating with both non-technical and technical teams and demonstrative experience in documenting “As-is” / “Future” IT architecture states and transitional roadmaps
  • Proven ability to create high quality architecture documents that can be easily understood by all stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of disaster recovery and high availability architectures
  • Solid understanding of IT security concepts and practices
  • Solid understanding of change management and other ITIL processes
  • Superior communication and presentation skills that are clear and effective, with the ability to persuade, influence and negotiate.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, ideally postgraduate qualifications and relevant experience; Or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and/or experience.
