Our customer is currently going through an exciting phase of change and innovation in how they manage cyber security across the organisation.  As a result of continued investment we are looking to engage a Cyber Security Analyst to focus on maintaining operational effectiveness of multiple systems through implementing, monitoring and maintaining security systems and risk processes.

This opportunity is an excellent junior to mid-level role for someone looking to advance their cyber security career and build on their technical skills and knowledge within a supportive and advancing environment.

Key activities will include:

  • Support and continually improve security compliance and support regular testing of security controls.
  • Daily review of automated alerts and other sources of intelligence, with the intent to actively hunt for and defend against threats to the infrastructure and data of the organisation. 
  • Determining real incidents from false positives and escalating unclear indicators. 
  • Promptly handling identified incidents, including collection of appropriate evidence, clearly presenting findings and recommending courses of action. 
  • Assist in improving cyber security awareness across the organisation, including the delivery of training. 
  • Contribute to the development of a range of Security Standard Operating Procedures for responding to common incidents.  
What we’re looking for in you:
  • A background in information security - ideally with commercial working experience or recent graduate.
  • 2+ years in an IT focused role, ideally working in an operational technology team.
  • Basic understanding of one of the following security frameworks: NIST / Cobit / Essential 8 / ISO.
  • Exposure to security principles and standards and controls.
  • Strong Windows Operating System experience gained in an operational technology role.
  • Intermediate cyber incident response skills and experience.
  • Ideally you will have experience with security technologies, including Firewalls, web filtering, NAC, IDS/ IPS, SSO, Certificate Management, SIEM, Endpoint Protection, Anti-malware, vulnerability management. 
  • Experience in infrastructure and application monitoring.  
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Interest in information security and data integrity.
  • Industry Certification or Qualifications desirable
