Our client, a leading NSW Government Department are seeking a Communications Manager to join them on a  contract basis until the end of March 2022 with potential for extension.

Primary purpose of the role

The role delivers communications plans, messaging and materials to support a range of technology projects. The role creates awareness, builds knowledge, embeds and positively reinforces changes brought about by technology implementations, ensuring stakeholders are willing and able to successfully support the change.

Key accountabilities

  • Support project delivery with delivery of communication plans and messaging that promote project objectives and are aligned to change management methodology (ADKAR)
  • Develop and produce project and portfolio communications materials, including fact sheets, FAQs, award submissions, corporate reports, presentations, intranet and media materials.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including internal teams, transport cluster operators and private operators.
  • Partner with project managers to schedule project communication deliverables and ensure they are adequately funded and resourced.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams including marketing, public affairs, change management, and training to ensure key messaging and timings are fully aligned and consistent and adhere to internal communication guidelines.
  • Be accountable for the quality of all project messaging and communications materials, ensure timely delivery, and act as a subject matter expert support people’s wellbeing.
Key knowledge and experience
  • Extensive experience in project or internal communication management with an emphasis on change communication.
  • Experience with complex change communications programs across multiple organisations or business units with an understanding of project team and operational stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
  • Understanding of principles of ADKAR change management methodology (Prosci)
Essential requirements
  • Business degree or equivalent tertiary communication or change management qualification.
