The Role & The Team:

As the Analyst in the Asset Control team, you will maintain the integrity of the investment activities (covering cash, equities, fixed interest securities and both exchange traded & complex OTC derivative) within systems by ensuring all portfolios are reconciled and all exceptions items are identified and managed effectively and efficiently. You will also assist and work on continuous improvements, both for BAU processes as well as for analysis and improvement of the handling of various financial instruments.


Your Responsibilities:
  • Reconciliation of all portfolios between Hi-Portfolio and third party sources for cash, securities and market valuation.
  • Gain exposure in all facets of market operations (trade matching, instructing, settlement and valuation) across a diverse range of investment instruments.
  • Investigate and resolve reconciliation exception items in a timely and correct manner.
  • Develop a strong understand of the Unit Pricing process e.g. Net Asset Value (NAV) calculation, contributing factors to what drives NAV impact etc.
  • Work within the appropriate levels of control framework to manage operational risks, identifying and mitigating operational risk and escalate items appropriately.
  • Manage industry relationships with investment managers, custodians, clearers, 3rd party administrators, tax agents, pricing/system vendors etc.
  • Pro-actively work on continuous improvements of all processes, driving the implementation by working with all affected teams / departments.
  • Test new products which are on boarded, especially in the exotic OTC derivatives area, considering all downstream effects.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 2+ years of experience within investment operations either from investment banking, fund manager or investment administration service provider background.
  • Sound knowledge of the financial markets & the various investment instrument traded across these markets, both domestically here in Australia and globally.
  • Knowledge of Hi-Portfolio, Bloomberg, Calypso and SimCorp Dimension is desirable.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance.
  • Truly collaborative team player, with willingness to learn.
