The Role & The Organisation

This is a hands-on and diverse role for a motivated individual who wishes to pursue a career in compliance, to join the Financial Crime Compliance team (Line 2) at an international bank. You will join a team of experienced compliance professionals to provide an in-house compliance service that effectively supports business areas in their duty to comply with relevant laws, regulations and internal procedures for Financial Crime Compliance.


The Role

  • Review new client onboarding and periodic CDD refresh, monitor Line 1 CDD periodic review and prepare reports.
  • Review CRS and FATCA information disclosed by clients.
  • Review Sanction alerts triggered from name and payment screening system.
  • Assist with ML/TF assessments, maintaining and administering key ML/TF risk records and metrics.
  • Review Transaction Monitoring cases for unusual activity cases escalated to Line 2, prepare the investigation report with recommended cations.
  • Prepare AML statistic reports for management and Head Office reporting.
  • Assist in developing, enhancing, implementing and maintaining AML/CTF policy and procedures; and delivering training programs.
  • Manage Regulatory, Internal Control and Head Office Identified Risks, particularly in the area of Financial Crime Compliance.
  • Assist in developing, enhancing and execution of the 2nd line assurance monitoring and control testing plan on the AML/CTF, Sanctions and Fraud risk areas within the business.

Skills and Experience
  • 1-3 years of Financial Services experience preferably gained through Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, or Wholesale Banking environments.
  • Any understanding of regulatory requirements on AML, CFT, KYC, Sanction, Fraud, Bribery, Corruptions and Financial Crime Operations (KYC/ECDD, SMR, IFTI Reporting, Transaction Monitoring, Investigation) is advantageous but not essential.
  • Good reporting, policy and procedure writing using PowerPoint and Excel is highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational skills (can work autonomously under pressure) with an excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to speak and read Chinese fluently is essential.
