Joining a successful International Water Technologies firm, working with the regional teams and to grow with them and their strong project pipelines.

Responsibilities:
  • Help develop and implement Ignition remote O&M datalogging and reporting platform, building this system up from scratch and maintaining it after.
  • Support design and deployment projects by organizing control systems for end-to-end automated water treatment plants.
  • Develop Ignition standard codes, libraries and templates and SQL databases to provide additional features such as CMMS, asset management, inventory control, advanced alarms management, machine learning and integration with Jedox and Salesforce
  • Design of control systems architecture for projects
  • Develop control systems design documentation including network topology diagram, functional descriptions, state transition diagrams, logic diagrams etc.
  • Develop, test and commission of PLC, HMI and SCADA systems for projects including code, graphics and interfaces
  • Attend site with field or commissioning engineers to commission new plants
  • Troubleshoot remotely and onsite instrumentation and control system issues, proposed solutions and undertake rectification works on approval
  • Prepare test plans and operator manuals for control systems operation
  • Training of internal and customer personnel on use of HMI and SCADA interfaces
  • Supporting the engineering team as required
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering: Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation & Control, Automation, Industrial or Computer Systems
  • Min 5 years in an automation & controls environment is required 
  • Extensive experience in troubleshooting and working with PLC (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Schneider), HMI and SCADA technologies with Inductive Automation’s Ignition platform being desirable
  • Required Coding skills: Python, SQL (must have), HTML, Javascript
  • Experience in commissioning, testing and site inspections of control systems
  • Experience with producing technical documents, such as functional and technical specifications, and control schematics to a high standard
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office: Word and Excel, as well as the use of VBA.
  • Willing to travel as and when required
