The Position
 
Leadership
  • Lead brand positioning, visual/brand identity, restaurant image, advertising (traditional, social media and PR), and provide guidance on product recommendations and calendar planning
  • Provide insight and thought leadership on the business and brand within the Executive team, Marketing team and organization overall
  • Partner with Executive Team to develop annual business plans, strategic objectives and initiatives
  • Establish objectives for the Marketing team, develop organizational capability and model how the team works together
  • Provide subject matter expertise, including branding best practices and consumer insights to help inform/guide the decision-making process
 
Planning and Execution
  • Lead the Company in translating business objectives into strategic objectives for marketing team; oversee execution and elevate results
  • Own accountability for profitable same store sales growth (SSS), strong brand awareness, and most importantly, an increase in brand engagement
  • Collaborate with Marketing team and internal departments (Retail Operations, Business Development/Franchising, Specialty Sales and the Company) to develop overall marketing and promotional plans to support individual business segments
  • Guide the marketing for CPG over different channels
  • Lead CRM initiatives with the objective of improving customer service relationships, ensuring customer retention and driving sales growth
  • Seek strategic partnerships to enhance the brand and drive sales
  • Lead marketing initiatives for mobile order/delivery and the growth of local store marketing
  • Lead the development of company’s brand strategy, marketing department budgets and operating expenses, and guidelines for all aspects of the business
  • Identify, hire and manage external strategic partners, agencies and vendors as required to develop and execute both marketing activities and strategic initiatives
  • Identify consumer research opportunities and lead research projects to help uncover consumer perceptions, behavior and other insights that can be applied to the business
  • Stay abreast of overall industry, consumer, and competitor trends to identify opportunities to build the Company’s business
 
Team Building and Development
  • Identify appropriate marketing organizational structure based on business needs and opportunities
  • Identify and communicate key responsibilities/best practices to ensure the marketing team promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership and teamwork to achieve business results
  • Establish hiring standards for marketing team members and make staffing decisions
  • Provide coaching, feedback and developmental opportunities to build the team’s skills and experience
  • Challenge and inspire team members to make achieve business results
  • Conduct and ensure the completion of annual performance evaluations
 
Qualifications:
  • 15 plus years of increasingly senior marketing experience in multi-unit retail, restaurant, food and beverage is a must
  • Experience with franchised and international businesses
  • Breadth of experience across broad range of marketing activity: in-store, out of store and online retail marketing; promotions; public relations; social media; advertising; digital/mobile; CRM/loyalty; events
  • Proven track record of building strong brands and driving business results
  • Strong marketing strategist with the ability to translate ideas into successful implementation plans
  • Proven leadership ability in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to create strong relationships and build consensus
  • Strong executive presence and excellent presentation skills
  • Well-developed critical thinking and analytic skills
  • Strong creative instincts and aesthetic sense
  • Ability to build, develop and inspire a skilled marketing team
  • Ability to manage vendor relationships and performance
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, PowerPoint and Excel
