Job Description
A large travel organization is seeking for Hands-On Head of Applications. Being 100% in-house development, this role will maintain the organization’s repository of software applications through best practices and the appropriate staffing and management of a technical team. Working closely with the Chief Digital officer to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.

Responsibility
  • Develop the technical expertise and capability the teams need to deliver projects
  • Taking ownership of architectural decisions and leading the design of technical solutions
  • Lead multiple technology teams; build and maintain high performing team by mentoring and motivating
  • Adhere to high quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time and on-budget
  • Possessing specialist knowledge of operating systems, devices, applications and software
  • Providing technical support to teams within the organisation, and to external clients when required
  • Assisting with systems integrations
  • Managing ticketed query system and ensuring comprehensive database of queries and resolutions is kept up to date
  • Maintaining and updating technical documents and procedures
  • Identifying and resolving technical issues
  • Managing coordination at a local and international level where required
  • Delivering regular and customised training to teams within the business
  • Preparing maintenance plans and upgrading schedules for the organisation’s systems
  • Developing reports for teams across the business
 
Requirement
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or engineering related
  • 16+ years of experience in in-house software development in a large complex system environment
  • Min 10 years of people management experience
  • Experienced with latest technology trends especially across the fintech industry
  • Experienced with coding and architecting front to back solutions
