Our client is a global medical device company and leader in new product development and medical education in Orthopedics.
PURPOSE As the Commercial Director, APAC, he/she will be responsible for driving product adoption and ensuring maximized revenue growth across the APAC region. The successful incumbent will also develop and implement sales strategies, align brand strategy with business implementation plans across the APAC region. He/She will assess, retain and develop talent in the sales organizations, align and drive training programs to improve commercial outcomes.
Collaborate with global, regional functional (Product Management, Regulatory Affairs, Finance, Ops) Country GMs and Regional Managers to develop baseline commercial capabilities for APAC
Optimize the Go to Market (GTM) model in terms of the sales, product launches and channel strategy across subsidiaries and distribution channels
Develop segmentation and prioritization methodology that would include the process to assess market potential and key account prioritization based on the GTM strategy
Deep dive into sales efficiencies and advise on the feasibility of Specialist roles
Establish consistent training formats that enhance sales teams’ (direct and indirect) abilities to deliver improved commercial outcomes across APAC
Define the KPIs and information needed and implement all necessary governance framework. Instill discipline to the Country GMs and Regional Managers
Drive the adoption and usage of Sales Enablement tool and CRM
Drive regional commercial strategy through GMs. Hold direct responsibility for P&L of Distributor markets in ASEAN & ANZ
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, measure and track all initiatives in a meaningful way that promotes and champion continuous improvement initiatives
Provide leadership, management, and development of the department employees including recruitment & retention, performance management, individual development planning, succession planning, employee communications, and positive working environment to ensure high productivity, employee engagement, and performance
Role will be managing Regional ASEAN Manager, Regional Manager ANZ, Sales Manager Singapore, SFE Manager
Bachelor Degree preferably in a Science or Engineering discipline
Proven sales experience in Orthopedic medical device space within APAC (Japan, China, ANZ, Korea and SEA)
At least 10 years’ direct experience Medical Device company
Experience managing a virtual team is advantageous
Ability to communicate in an additional language will be an added advantage
Effective time management, communications, decision making, presentation, and organization skills.
Excellent writing, editing, communications, and interpersonal skills
Work effectively in multinational/multicultural environments
Business travel a norm and may fluctuate depends on business requirements, as a general guidance 30-40% travel may be required
