Our client a Leading NSW Government Department are looking for a Senior Policy and Data Officer to join their team on a contract until the end of financial year.
There may be potential for the role to extend past this point.
This role supports the delivery of key initiatives to enhance the support of teaching and learning in NSW public Schools.
Key accountabilities:
  • Support the development of the strategic direction of the literacy and numeracy priorities for schools and education, including scoping proposals and developing options.
  • Synthesise and analyse relevant material including reviewing papers, fact-finding, gathering data, compiling information, analysing material and consulting with specialists to ensure a thorough understanding and analysis of complex issues.
  • Take system wide information, including analysis of other reforms and strategies, and distil key insights to support shaping the literacy and numeracy priorities.
  • Work with team members and experts to produce various business strategy documentation, reports, briefings, papers and other requested documents.
  • Lead data analysis and reporting to support the policy development and implementation plans.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to develop statistical models and costings to help inform decision-making.
Applicant requirements:
  • Strong experience in policy development and drafting a range of government documents such as briefs and submissions.
  • Data analysis skills are a must
  • A degree or diploma in a relevant field, and/or relevant experience.
  • Experience in the education sector desirable (not essential).
