My client is the worlds fastest growing social trading platform incorporating commodities, currencies, financial assets, stocks and cryptocurrencies who are looking to add a trade surveillance manager to the team in Australia to help build out this function as the business continues to grow in Australia and New Zealand.

The Australian office (and APAC hub) has grown 200% in the last 12 months despite a worldwide recession.  They are a social trading platform that has had over $160 million USD invested into its growth and was last valued in the billions.  

They are looking to hire someone to customise the Actimize Trade Surveillance system for the Australian and APAC markets - working hand in hand with the global team. This will be the first time the global system has been customized or this market so the role requires someone who can work autonomously, who can methodically work through setting up the alerts for the region and has the teamwork ability to communicate with other staff around the world and learn from their expertise. 

Role responsibilities
  • Working with the Head of Compliance in the UK to customize the Actimize Trade Surveillance software for the Australian and New Zealand Markets
  • Setting up all the Trade Surveillance alerts
  • Setting up the Market Abuse framework 
  • Training the wider compliance team to use the system and follow process
  • Eventually - hire some trade surveillance analysts and train them 
  • Work with the business to assess and implement over trade surveillance systems / software
  • Once established - this person will be expected to pick up general compliance related duties and cross skill into other compliance areas

REQUIREMENTS
  • 3-4 years' experience utilising trade surveillance systems -e.g. NICE Actimize, SMARTS etc
  • Understanding of retail brokerage market in Australia and APAC
  • Strong Communicator
  • Autonomous and methodical worker
  • Ideally you will have updated certain modules / updated alerts parameters but it's not essential
  • Growth mindset and desire to improve your skillset / position within the company - this role will become a people leadership position within 12 months
