Our client is a subsidiary of a major global financial services organisation currently experiencing significant growth. They operate in the insurance and investments sector and have built a market leading brand. Due to this growth they have a contract to permanent opportunity for a senior management accountant or senior financial analyst to join their finance team.  

Reporting to the Head of Finance this will be a broad role focusing on delivering all management reporting, FP&A and analysis for the business and leading an accountant in the delivery of financial accounting activities. Specific deliverables will include:
  • Preparation of the annual planning process and supporting the preparation and delivery of both the strategic dialogue and planning dialogue.
  • Preparation and distribution of monthly management accounts, KPI reporting and analysis.
  • Support the preparation of quarterly and annual APRA returns and year end ASIC financial statements. Assist in the co-ordination of external and internal audits.
  • Support the capital modelling process including provision of inputs, interpretation and reporting, and also the insurance liability reserving, by actuarial and risk functions.
  • Leading one accountant in delivering the month end close accounting, including partnering with all business process owners, across all functions, and coordination with international stakeholders
  • Apply accounting policies, operate and maintain key financial controls.
  • Assist with implementation of changes and new systems and processes in response to new products, reporting requirements and accounting standards changes.
This is initially a contract position with a strong likelihood of becoming permanent for the right candidate. The business is growing quickly and in time it is envisaged that this role will grow into an FP&A Manager position as the team grows.

Required skills and experience: 
  • Chartered Accountant or CPA qualified
  • Minimum 4 years’ post qualified experience in accounting within the insurance, investments or banking sectors ideally spanning financial and management accounting disciplines.
  • Strong process improvement and financial systems experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Ability to work in and respond to a fast paced and changing environment
