I am looking for a Product (UX/UI) Design Lead to join a innovated and product focused organisation based in Surry Hills/Redfern (near Central Station).

This is a permanent role, supporting 2 other designers in a business that is currently made up of 28 people. Salary depends on experience.

This role is designed for people who enjoy being challenged, are passionate about UX and Product Design as a whole and enjoy learning on the job rather than sitting and doing one application for years on end!

Company:
Work for a product-led and scaling Tech company whose software is used worldwide. Benefit from a highly collaborative set-up, cross-functional teams, and clearly defined measures of success.

Responsibilities:
  • Take ownership of the end to end design process from concept, research through to hi-fi designs.
  • Use your skill as "product thinker" to understand the big picture, balancing the user needs with the business goals and tech feasibility.
  • Constantly test your ideas and prototypes with real users building testing into your weekly schedule.
  • Continuously validate and refine ideas as well as collect new insights that they may not have even been looking for.
  • Use methods such as user interviews, unmoderated tasks, contextual inquiry and usability testing.
  • Analyse from qualitative and quantitative data such as usage data, to make data-informed decisions.
  • Present and run workshops with stakeholders and SMEs to establish business needs and requirements.
  • Help build a component-driven design system - responsible for the design and implementation of custom iconography, typography, colour palette, responsive grids and a component library.

About You:
  • You have a portfolio that showcases both your UX problem-solving skills as well as your aesthetically pleasing UI skills. Take your folio further and talk about the commercial outcomes that your work brought to the business.
  • You have a solid understanding of user-centred approaches and are passionate about understanding users' needs and behaviour, and can communicate this to business people.
  • Set up product design best practice processes that will create development efficiencies and result in better outcomes for users.
  • You thrive in a collaborative workplace; partnering with other designers, engineers, product managers and developers.
  • You are an avid problem solver that's excited by an opportunity and can communicate your process and the 'why' behind it.
  • You are a big picture thinker, creating an experience that always keeps users in mind while also being in the nitty-gritty as details do matter.
  • Your tools of the trade are anything from Adobe CC, Zeplin, Sketch, Figma, Invision, Axure.
  • You love being an end to end Product Designer and the variety it brings; one day you'll be talking to users, researching and analysing insights and the next you'll be creating prototypes and UI that are intuitive and beautiful.

Benefits Include:
  • Flexible, vibrant culture - you'll have the room you need to get things done in the way that works best for you - we want the best out of our staff and will encourage your growth and exposure as much as possible
  • Central location
  • Exposure to a wide variety of projects, products & technologies
