Our client is one of Australia's leading Insurance companies, an employer of choice and one of the largest employers in Australia. They have an excellent reputation as a people focused organisation and provide a flexible, diverse and high performance culture.

The organisation is currently undergoing a major system replacement project and as such require an experienced senior finance business analyst or finance SME with UAT testing experience to join the finance stream of the project.  Reporting into the Project Manager, Finance this will be an excellent opportunity to join a large, complex program. Specific deliverables will include:
  • Coordinate the Finance UAT and end to end test processes for the Transformation Program.
  • Ensure broader Finance system teams are engaged in a timely manner of the upcoming change by attending the relevant Finance and Program UAT/test meetings, thus ensuring relevant finance test environments are prepared for use. Ensuring all planned changes are assessed by the relevant teams.
  • Engage of the relevant Subject Matter Experts for Finance on the program and ensuring regular and effective communication is provided on the UAT progress.
  • Responsible for ensuring a robust test plans are prepared for all Finance impacts from the Transformation Program.
  • Ensure sufficient testing has been completed and results are documented.
  • Defects are communicated back to the correct areas in the program for resolution and are prioritised and tracked from a finance perspective.
  • Effective updates are provided at the fortnightly Finance working group meeting for all streams and blockers are identified to ensure timely clearance.
  • Ensure Finance testing has been appropriately signed off by the required Finance Groups and coordination back up to the Program.
  • Maintain a log of all Finance test cases and progress against these.
  • Ensure Weekly Status reporting to be undertaken and shared with key stakeholders.
  • Assist to undertake certain test scenarios.
  • Work within the Finance UAT Framework as specified.
  • Work with finance, line 1 risk, the business and SME’s to agree workarounds should any low rated defects be outstanding on go live. 
Required skills and experience:
  • Ideally CA/CPA qualified (minimum accounting degree / part qualified)
  • Experience in a business analyst, Finance testing analyst or finance analysts for a complex, matrixed general insurance /  financial services organisation.
  • Experience working as part of a project team and preferably in an agile environment.
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking capability.
  • Ability to interpret and analyse complex information, extract meaningful insights and evaluate options for decision-making.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise effectively, organise tasks and manage competing resources and demands.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with audiences at all levels with clarity, impact and influence.

This will initially be a 6 month contract however this is a long term program with multiple releases and the likelihood is that it will turn into a longer term engagement.
