Our client is a leading general insurance group and employer of choice. In addition to being a market leader in commercial and personal insurance lines they are also renowned as one of the top financial services groups to work for in Australia, boasting many awards and accolades in areas such as diversity, flexibility and staff engagement.

Following a strategic realignment of portfolio's they have a newly created leadership role within their general insurance business unit finance team. Reporting into the GM Finance, this role has a highly commercial focus.  You will partner with EGM level business and finance stakeholders whilst leading and developing a team of high performing finance business partners. 

Key deliverables will include:

  • Provision of financial advice and insights to GM and EGM level business and finance stakeholders to support the achievement of respective business plan
  • Lead team in providing financial analysis, proactively highlighting and driving resolution of business performance issues and opportunities
  • Drive annual budgeting, forecasting and planning cycles
  • Responsible for delivering all project financials and forecasts
  • Provide expert financial advice and modelling on proposed projects and business cases.
  • Proactively identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement and automation of finance processes and analytical tasks both onshore and offshore.
  • Conduct extensive competitor analysis and benchmarking and communicate key findings and messages to senior stakeholders in the business and finance
  • Lead, mentor and coach team of high performing financial analysts and finance business partners

Required skills and experience:

  • CA/CPA/CIMA qualified with minimum of 7-10 years in senior decision support/finance business partnering roles
  • Deep knowledge of the general insurance market and associated business drivers
  • Experience in leading and developing teams of analysts/finance business partners
  • Track record of strategic finance partnering with with EGM C-Suite level stakeholders in both business and finance
  • Strong financial modelling / business case modelling experience
  • Highly polished presenter and communicator
