Our client is a leading Institutional Bank and employer of choice offering outstanding work life balance, agile working model and flexible working hours. They are currently going through a large capital and funding project and as such require a Senior Business Analyst with an accounting financial markets background to join the finance stream of the project. Reporting into the Project Manager you will focus on ensuring finance requirements are developed, documented and agreed to meet the business requirements of projects under the finance Program.

You will act as key liaison point between Finance, Program, business stakeholders, technology and Finance PM's and other key implementation groups to ensure that business needs are captured, understood and produce outcomes that meet the needs of both Finance and the business. You will work closely with PM and SME's on the project. 

Key deliverables will include:

  • Ensure that Finance requirements are developed, documented and agreed to meet the business requirements of projects.
  • Act as key liaison point between finance, the program / project, business stakeholders, testing teams, technology and other key implementation groups and ensures that finance / business needs are captured, understood to produce outcomes that meet the needs of both finance and the business. 
  • Work closely with the program / project manager, project / stream leads and SMEs across the project.  Guidance will be provided by the SME's, PM's and Lead BA initially .
  • Produce high quality, well written documents, following project methodologies such as business / finance requirements documents, business process specifications (BPS) and standard operating procedures (SOP) for all associated projects.
  • Guide other members of the Finance Transformation team from a project delivery perspective, both onshore and offshore 
  • Working to ensure the definition, elicitation, prioritisation and validation of requirements and design of business processes to meet the needs of the organisation
  • Defining with the SME's the ‘As Is’ and ‘To Be’ processes. Key input into the completion of the finance requirements, business process specifications and/or system functional / non functional specifications that will drive the desired change to business process, system enhancement / development activities, Requirements analysis and lifecycle management:  Ensure the project meets the needs of the customer and business and is aligned to the overall strategy
     
Required skills and experience

  • CA or CPA qualification (ESSENTIAL)
  • Experience within institutional banking environment (ESSENTIAL)
  • Minimum 3-5 years work experience in a Senior Business Analyst role working within medium to large projects (ESSENTIAL)
  • Knowledge of financial instruments such as interest rate swaps (and accounting treatment of them)
  • Experience with Murex system (advantageous)
  • Prior experience in finance / accounting functions with exposure to Financial, Management and process change.
  • Experience developing UAT test scenarios and execution
