Our client is one of Australia's leading Financial Services companies and an employer of choice.  They are about to undergo a major transformation program and as such require a Senior Finance Business Partner with a deep project / program finance background to join the program.

Reporting to the Program Director, you will focus on:

  • Report, analyse and provide insight/recommendations on financial performance of the program and its component projects
  • Accurately forecast, analyse, and monitor project costs
  • Support the GM/s, Heads Of and project managers in strategic decision-making through financial analysis and budgeting
  • Project services cost estimates and invoicing 
  • Identify and escalate key issues and impacts and advising possible solutions 
  • Recommend the best use of resources to achieve program objectives
  • Design and develop program budget and financial reporting, taking account of program objectives, risks and benefits
  • In cooperation with project managers, develop project budgets and financial reports
  • Look at current financial performance and identify trends
  • Analyse and report on the financial performance of the program with reference to budgets and benefits
  • Developing financial models and providing financial forecasts
  • Recommend budgets and improvements based on the above information
  • Develop financial models and provide financial forecast vs actual reports with respect to stranded costs
  • Develop initiatives and policies that may improve financial outcomes
  • Provide support and advice to the Program Manager and project managers
  • Support the budget and quarterly forecasts
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to understand developments and strategies that may impact expense performance; identifying potential risks as required
  • Provide accurate and timely information for the presentation of monthly results
  • Seek ways to continually improve operational processes

This is a high profile long term program with very senior stakeholder exposure so strong influencing and stakeholder management skills are required.

Required skills and experience:

  • CA/CPA/CIMA qualification
  • Deep project/program finance experience on large complex programs (preferably within financial services)
  • 7-10 years experience in a finance manager level role
  • Exemplary communication and presentation skills
  • Banking/insurance experience
