Our client is a major blue chip organisation with a superb brand and reputation in their market. In addition they offer a progressive, diverse, fun and flexible working environment.

Due to an internal promotion they have a great opportunity for a Senior / Lead Financial accountant with a strong reconciliations and accounting operations background to join and lead their experienced reconciliations team.  Reporting into the Senior Manager, Accounting Operations you will lead a medium sized team in owning the reconciliations framework and overseeing the bank reconciliations process. 

Specific deliverables will include:
  • Leading and developing a medium sized team of experienced reconciliations accountants
  • Investigating and resolving variance issues in bank reconciliations using a thorough investigative process
  • Act a subject matter expert to provide advice to key stakeholders on reconciliation related issues
  • Ensure accurate and timely operational cashflow forecasts 
  • Manage year end audit requirements
  • Drive balance sheet reconciliations as required
  • Use your initiative to drive change management and process improvement within the function

Required skills and experience:
  • Qualified CA/CPA/ACCA/CIMA (preferred)
  • Deep balance sheet and bank reconciliations experience
  • Experience in leading teams in the reconciliations or accounting operations area
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills, and strong track record of successfully managing and influencing stakeholders (finance/non finance)
  • Process improvement and change management mind set 
  • Experience in a large complex organisations (Blue Chip Commerce, Financial Services or Government) which have automated reconciliations processes
