The Role & The Organisation:

This role will join a highly experienced team of compliance professionals in the Group Control Room at a Big4 Australian bank, and be responsible for -
  1. Developing conflicts of interest frameworks, policies and procedures;
  2. Performing transactional and employee-related conflicts management; and
  3. Providing advice and training on implementation and application of conflicts policies. 

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the Bank's Conflicts of Interest (COI) framework, policies and procedures, conflicts registers, monitoring programmes etc.
  • Advise business partners and senior leadership on management of transactional conflicts, employee-related conflicts (e.g. directorships, external business interests and personal account dealing) and other conflicts within their businesses and the Bank.
  • Manage transactional conflicts, including conflicts clearances, insiders lists, conflicts registers, Watch and Restricted Lists, and Wall crossings.
  • Provide inputs into technology implementation to support the management of transactional and employee-related conflicts.
  • Participate in the development and delivery of training as required.

Skill Requirements:
  • 5+ years of compliance experience in a financial services organisation, or other relevant business experience such as law, operational risk or audit.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline e.g. law or postgraduate studies in compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing key stakeholder relationships at a senior level both internally and externally.
  • Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory environments (ASIC, ASX, APRA etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to operates effectively in a changing environment, working and dealing with complexity and ambiguity to produce optimal outcomes.
