We are currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join a fast growing tech start up based in Sydney CBD. Reporting to the CEO and owner this is initally a stand alone role which will have full responsibility across the end to end accounting life cycle and the opportunity to build a team around it as the business grows. This hand on role offers an opportunity to gain exposure to a wide variety duties as the company looks to acquire other organisations and IPO in the next 18 months. As such they require a flexible, committed candidate who is eager to learn.

The ideal candidate will be either practice trained with post qualified experience in a growing SME or working in practice in a private clients division doing end to end accounts prep for SMEs or be currently working in a fast paced entrepreneurial business in a small hands on accounts team.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain integrity of general ledger
  • Ensure internal and external financial reporting integrity and accuracy
  • Management of payroll processing and reporting requirements
  • Monthly accruals & reconciliations
  • Monthly reporting and financial board reporting as required
  • Tax and regulatory compliance
  • Journal preparation, expense review and analysis
  • Additional duties as assigned by Executives from time to time


Candidate Profile

  • CA qualified (with experience in SME organisations)
  • Experience preparing end to end accounts
  • Passionate about learning and not afraid to get there hands dirty
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable dealing with CEO and owners
