This large Government Department is seeking an experienced Business Project Manager.

The Safety, Environment and Regulation (SER) division provides "centres of excellence" with a critical mass of expertise to support line accountability, facilitate consistency and provide assurance across the cluster. It also delivers a range of regulatory programs.

The Business Project Manager manages and delivers diverse projects in relation to the implementation of regulations, policies, systems and procedures for road regulatory programs and services to meet organisational and regulatory objectives.

This role operates with a high-level of autonomy and is expected to determine key operational objectives in consultation with the Senior Manager. The role is fully accountable for the delivery of projects / programs assigned on time, achieving the required outcomes and at, or below budget.

This role reports to the Project Director Regulatory Strategy and Performance.

Key Accountabilities:
  1. Lead and oversee all aspects of project development and implementation across a portfolio of complex projects, preparation of business cases and project plans, establishing appropriate governance, including identifying, allocating and managing resources, and meeting reporting requirements, to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards in line with the Agency project management methodology.
  2. Lead the development and delivery of programs, identifying interdependencies and leveraging resources to maximise efficiencies and achieve required organisation outcomes.
  3. Provide expert advice and information to stakeholders on emerging project issues and present recommendations to support delivery in line with established plans, budgets, timeframes, policy objectives and other divisional priorities.
  4. Manage the engagement of stakeholders during the development, implementation, and review of projects to ensure understanding and effective implementation of policy initiative into business operations.
  5. Support the advance of business objectives and regulatory outcomes through representing the Agency on relevant project teams and working parties.
  6. Contribute to achieving regulatory outcomes by participating in and/or leading project teams in business improvement and reform projects.
Essential Requirements:
  1. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Program Governance.
  2. Proven project management experience on multi-disciplinary projects, with experience in participating in multi-disciplinary teams of professional and technical personnel.
