Our client is an employer of choice and one of the leading insurers in the Australian market. They have a progressive, people focused culture and are one of the most flexible employers that we partner with.  

Due to an internal secondment they are currently looking to hire an experienced Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to join the team initially on a 12 month contract basis. Reporting to the GM Finance you will lead a medium sized team of financial analysts, cost accountants and finance business partners in delivering all management reporting, planning, budgeting and forecasting activities as well as delivering commercial insights to the business.

Specific deliverables will include:

  • Leading the strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Leadership and development of a medium sized finance team
  • Ensuring all local and group reporting requirements are delivered with insights and analysis
  • Actively monitoring business performance against financial KPI’s
  • Managing the cost base of the organisation
  • Managing the investment spend and project portfolio including business case reviews and approvals,
  • Providing adhoc analysis and relevant financial information and insights to support strategic decision making across the business,
  • Lead and support the reporting and analysis and cost management team 
  • Ensure full understanding of strategic plans and frameworks for planning, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Production of relevant, timely forecasting and planning 

This is great role for an experienced FP&A Manager ideally with an insurance background to join one of the leading insurers in the market. The contract is initially for 12 month but has potential to extend beyond that. 

Required skills and experience:
  • 10 years + financial planning, management accounting and financial analysis experience
  • 3-5 years experience leading medium or large finance teams
  • Strong track record in managing costs 
  • Deep insurance background preferred (general or life insurance). Would potentially also consider other financial services backgrounds such (ie wealth management or banking)
