This newly created Cyber Security Engineer opportunity exists within a company that are focused on operational excellence and end user experience, and are continually driving improvement and innovation of their internal processes and technology.
The organisation are experiencing a positive period of transformation and change around how security is managed and monitored across the organisation and now require an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to work in a cyber team responsible for threat intelligence, prevention, monitoring, assessing and defending key information assets from internal and external threats. 
 
The Opportunity
The opportunity will see you step into an SME role and provide technical expertise across security event analysis, threat intelligence management, cyber security incident response and management, and investigation support. You will also work on maintaining and maturing the Cyber Security tool-set, including Vulnerability Scanners, Antivirus and Endpoint protection, SIEM, IDS and SOAR tools.
  
What we’re looking for in you:
  • 3+ years in an IT / Cyber Security operational role, ideally focused on threat intelligence, monitoring and prevention.
  • Technical knowledge of infrastructure and application vulnerability assessment tools
  • Experience with SIEM tools, such as Splunk / Nagios / etc.....
  • Encryption and Authentication concepts or systems
  • Demonstrable experience of working in complex and diverse technology environments.
  • Strong technical knowledge around networking technologies, Firewall technologies, Web Application Firewall technologies, data leakage and anti-malware technologies.
  • Knowledge and commercial experience with industry standard security practices
  • You keep up-to-date with industry trends and issues in cyber security and risk management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills – ability to influence and consult.
  • Strong focus on the customer and business needs.
  • Tertiary Qualifications in related field – Desirable.
  • Industry Qualifications – Desirable.
