My client is one of the largest financial services groups in Australia and an employer of choice with a prestigious brand and superb working culture.  They are currently undergoing a major long term finance transformation program and as such have a newly created opportunity for an experienced CA/CPA qualified Finance Business or Process Analyst to join their finance transformation team on a permanent basis. 

As Senior Finance Process Analyst you will act as liaison point between finance, the program / project, business stakeholders, testing teams, technology and other key implementation groups and ensures that finance / business needs are captured, understood to produce outcomes that meet the needs of both finance and the business. You will also work closely with the program / project manager, project / stream leads and SMEs across the project.

Reporting into the Head of Finance Transformation your key deliverables will include:
  • Understand current as is processes and control points in order to assess the impacts of the project and the potential uplift in broader current state documentation.
  • Prepare detailed process flow diagrams for current state and future state, highlighting the changes and impacts to controls and operational processes.
  • Compile and enhance process documentation in line with the risk and compliance framework.
  • Take the lead in working with finance stakeholders and the core project team to articulate and document detailed end-to-end finance processes using a risk based approach, identify the optimal internal control points for each process at each phase of the project.
  • Facilitate workshops to elicit the required information and obtain agreement on new processes.
  • Work with finance, line 1 risk, the business and SME’s to identify and agree on the controls on any new of changed processes andmonitor the implementation of new controls and/or control improvements as part of the project.
  • Working with the business implementation stream and finance SME’s of the Transformation program to assist with process change impacts to finance.
  • Collaborate with Core Transformation Project resources to understand end to end data flow and work to ensure the control environment is sufficient which may fall outside the direct finance remit but impact finance processes down stream.
Candidate requirements:
  • Qualified accountant (CA/CPA)
  • 5 years' + experience in a senior finance process or finance business analyst role or potentially in a financial reporting position with finance process improvement SME experience
  • Strong financial services background (complex banking or insurance environment preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting processes /9including re engineering or design of finance processes)
  • Outstanding communication, stakeholder management and presentation skills
