My client is a leading Australian Insurance Group and employer of choice. They have superb reputation and manage to balance a high performance culture with market leading flexibility and work life balance. 

They currently have an urgent contract role for a strong finance business partner or senior financial analyst to join a key business unit finance team.  

Reporting into the Senior Manager, Group Services Finance key responsibilities will include:
  • Assist to co-ordinate the preparation of expense budgets, forecasts and analysis for Group Services
  • Support execution of the month end process for reporting expenses (TCE) for Group Services with a deep understanding of productivity drivers.
  • Support the financial governance of Group Services costs and associated transactional postings, ensuring accuracy and integrity
  • Execute accurate financial performance reporting to enable the Group Services functions to monitor and track against financial targets
  • Execute the production of timely and accurate reporting, analysis and commentary for Group Services
  • When required provide BAU financial support across the Group Services functions, including financial modelling, sensitivity analysis and deep dive financial analysis
  • Occasionally provide operational financial support and advice for initiatives within Group Services including: scenario modelling, ad hoc business partnering support and targeted financial analysis
  • Contribute as required to the successful delivery of, and execution towards elements of the CFO Plan and other process improvement opportunities
  • Develop, maintain and influence key relationships across the group to support the successful delivery of key objectives through alignment of financial, operational and strategic goals
  • Provide support to colleagues within the Enterprise Finance – Business Partnering teams and the broader Finance team, as required
Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ post qualified Management Accounting or financial analysis expertise required , preferably within financial services
  • Experience in finance and accounting including financial management/reporting, technical accounting knowledge and business commerciality
  • Understanding of business and financial impacts of operational decisions
  • Knowledge of finance reporting systems and frameworks, preferably TM1 experience
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask, adhere to deadlines and perform under pressure
  • Advanced excel skills with some exposure to financial modelling
  • Good interpersonal skills and an effective communicator
  • Experience in analysing the underlying drivers of Total controllable Expenses
  • Group Services exposure highly regarded
  • CA/CPA/CIMA qualified

This is an urgent contract role initially for 6 months but with potential to extend for the right candidate.
