We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Finance Analyst to join a leading gorvernment department based in Sydney. This organisation adopts a very commercial outlook and is at the forefront of innovation within NSW government, as a result there a number of inniatives and exciting projects to immerce yourself in.
 
The role will support senior stakeholders with commercial and financial analysis looking at efficency, delivery of strategic objectives and utilisation of resources.
 
Duties

  • Support the leadership team to drive business improvements through analysis of key strategic drivers and financial review within the department
  • Support senior leadership with business case development and analysis
  • Play a lead role in supporting the business to identify and analyse straegic opportunities
  • Proactively highlight future performance concerns and opportunities for the business to improve
  • Lead the budgetting and forecasting process
  • P&L analysis and senario modelling
  • Responding to ad hoc analysis requests from the business in order to ensure sound financial support of business decisions


Candidate Profile

  • Qualified (CPA, CA, CIMA, ACCA)
  • Strong commercial awareness and previous experience of business partnering in a cross functional environment at a senior level
  • Proven track record of building relationships outside of the finance function with well developed communication skills
  • Confident at challenging the status quo and both influencing and challenging decisions at a senior management level
  • Advanced Excel skills with experience of financial modelling
