Our client is one of Australia's leading Insurance groups and an employer of choice.  They offer great work life balance, superb career progression both domestically and internationally and are going through an exciting period of growth.

Due to the upcoming IFRS17 insurance accounting standards change they are looking for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant or Finance Manager with strong insurance accounting experience to join their IFRS17 project team. Reporting into the Head of Finance this role will focus on designing reporting systems and processes across the group's financial and management reporting functions. 

Key deliverables will include:
  • Design and implementation of new financial reporting processes and control environment, in cooperation with the broader finance teams
  • Supporting the production, validation and analysis of information and data to fulfil local, Group and regulatory reporting requirements;
  • Analysis and assessment of business transactions to determine application of new accounting policies
  • Assist in producing financial statements that are compliant with IFRS17 and design new internal management reporting deliverables
  • Support the implementation of IFRS17 Group program into existing accounting system landscape and the development of quality standards for all accounting, system and reporting processes in IFRS17
  • Presentation and analysis of IFRS17 reporting figures with other accounting standards such as IFRS 4 or A-GAAP 

This is a permanent role where you can utilise your strong BAU insurance accounting skills on a high profile project.

Required skills and experience:

  • CA / CPA qualified with 5-7 years accounting experience as a senior financial accountant or finance manager within a General Insurance, Life or Reinsurance company OR Assistant Manager / Manager from Big 4 audit firm with insurance clients
  • Proven project management experience with the ability to work to tight deadlines and manage time and conflicting deadlines accordingly
  • IFRS and AGAAP experience necessary
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in fast paced, complex environment.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
