Our client is a leading investment manager (not custodian) with outstanding culture, excellent work life balance and a premium brand within the FS market.  They are currently undertaking a major unit pricing rememdiation project and as such require an experienced senior finance professional with strong unit pricing and/or fund accounting background. 

Reporting into the senior manager you will focus on:

  • Execution of unit pricing oversight controls and liaising with internal and external stakeholders
  • Managing unit pricing error and remediation projects across the full cycle
  • Ongoing process improvement of unit pricing oversight
  • Participate in IT system implementation and other projects
  • Reviewing accuracy of unit prices calculated by external administrator
  • Execution of control checks
  • Data interpretation and analysis
  • Investigation and verification of control breaches and escalation of verified exceptions
  • Monitoring, tracking and reporting of exceptions and execution of controls
  • Communication with external administrator and internal parties to resolve exceptions
  • Documenting and updating procedures
  • Provide support in developing and maintaining a continuous improvement mindset. Increasing the control environment and mitigate the risks inherent in the unit pricing process.
  • Be pro-active in understanding the workings of the group's portfolios, developing business knowledge through leverage of others and training courses to aid in process development & improvement.
  • Comply and work within the framework of the organisation’s policies and procedures.
  • Provide support in establishing and achieving the team’s goals through supporting team members, maintaining and contributing to a positive work environment; ensuring knowledge is shared and committing to personal development.

Required skills and experience:

  • Extensive experience in unit pricing / fund accounting / performance calculation’s
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and escalating issues where appropriate
  • Prioritisation and time management skills
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and listening) with an ability to understand and communicate complex financial issues in an articulate manner
  • Strong risk management and control skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Intermediate to advanced excel modelling skills
  • Project planning and execution
  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals
  • Engender a customer/business centric focus for the team in delivering work outcomes
  • Desire to achieve continuous improvement
