The Senior IT Commercial Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of IT contracts and is accountable for ensuring their portfolio of contracts are delivering value for money for the customer. The position follows up the end-to-end IT contract management lifecycle processes, builds relationships with the business and demonstrates customer focused support.
The Senior IT Commercial Manager also leads the sourcing of initiatives, leads contract negotiations and plays an important role in contract governance, including the chairing of governance forums within the IPOS program.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Manage a range of contracts throughout the contract lifecycle and ensures adherence to all contract and procurement processes
  2. Responsible for the sourcing of new products and services in accordance with procurement and governance frameworks
  3. Engags and collaborate with customers, including providing advisory support in the development of business cases, developing sourcing strategies, tender evaluation plans and service level agreements
  4. Delivers better ICT products and services to clients by developing partnerships and ongoing relationships with external vendors and internal groups to resolve contract difficulties
  5. Monitors contract performance
  6. Establish risk management plans for the contract portfolio; manage and mitigate commercial issues and risks
  7. Manage software and hardware license compliance
  8. Manage End-to-End sourcing of Managed Services as may be required
Experience Required:
  1. Extensive experience in establishment, negotiation and monitoring of large and complex ICT contracts
  2. Ability to demonstrate a customer focused approach taken to contract management
  3. Demonstrated ability to build strategic relationships and partnerships with vendors
  4. Excellent contract management skills, including managing the end-to-end procurement process, applying commercial business practices, resolving contract disputes and auditing performance of service
  5. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of NSW government standards, policies, legislation and practices in relation to procurement and tendering including legal aspects of IT contracts
  6. Demonstrated project management skills applied to managing a portfolio of contracts, including the ability to identify risks and opportunities and plan mitigation strategies
  7. Tertiary qualifications in a Legal, Computer Science discipline, MBA.Skills and/or appropriate skills, qualifications and experience
