The Organisation:

A few newly created Line 2 Financial Crime Risk & Compliance Management roles have been created, to support the Group Functions with an Australian Big4 bank, reporting into the Divisional Financial Crime Officer.


The Responsibilities:
  • Define, enhance and implement prioritised Financial Crime frameworks with business partners and Line 1 risk teams with a strong delivery focus.
  • Provide advice to projects and business partners to manage Financial Crime risks and meet compliance obligations, including risk assessments.
  • Drive and support innovative solutions to improve efficiencies and reduce complexities.
  • Influence and drive compliance with all relevant financial crime regulatory requirements and standards across the designated functions.
  • Act as a change agent to create a culture that supports proactive Financial Crime compliance and risk management across the business units supported.
  • Identify systemic issues and implication of control failures, ensuring appropriate recording on the Group’s risk and compliance management system.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the Group including the Business, Risk, Compliance, Operations and Legal community to support the build and maintenance of end to end Financial Crime risk management solutions.
  • Contribute to preparing Divisional AML/CTF reports, including Risk Committee and Board papers, and advising senior management in the event of any major issues.

The Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in hands-on risk management / advisory / assurance function.
  • Good knowledge of Financial Crime risks and regulatory requirements that are impacting a large-scale banking institution.
  • Pragmatic and independent problem solver, with demonstrated capabilities to think on your feet and formulate plans of action.
  • End to end issue management: ability to perform deep-dive analysis on risk scenarios and issues / breaches and get to the bottom of it.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills in a large, complex organisation.
