Looking for a Lead Designer to join a one of the 'big four' banks in Sydney CBD. This role is a permanent position offering $160 + super + bonus
 
The role:

This role is a people leadership position responsible for leading day-to-day Experience Design (XD) activities and deliverables within our Experience Design and Delivery business, with a specific focus on mobile app design.
 
Understand and drive the customer experience vision for the project, ensuring design activities are aligned and provide Consumer Digital with a strong connection to both current and evolving customer needs. This includes, but isn’t limited to:
  • Aligning approach, activities and outputs with the customer vision for the project.
  • Ensuring quality design outcomes are met and delivered on time.
  • Overseeing customer research and customer testing.
  • Storytelling and influencing – with direct project members and stakeholders.
  • Leveraging XD Design Clinics and the Global Experience Language (GEL) to support consistency, quality and best practice.
  • Provide on-demand rationale to support design decisions.
  • Business analysis deliverables & customer analysis deliverables.
  • Concept designs, detailed designs, insights and materials for research and customer testing.
  • Responsible for the design solutions driving proven business results.
  • Provide advice and mentoring for junior design team members and other stakeholders within each project.
  • Work collaboratively with the XD Program Leads, XD Designers and other XD team members including Operations and Research & Insights.
  • Work with Project Managers, Product Owners and other key project team members such as BAs and developers.
  • Help foster a positive team spirit through empowerment, trust and respect.
 
Experience:
  • Expert knowledge of Apple and Android design patterns, components, constraints and guidelines
  • Native app design experience 3+ years
  • 7+ years of customer centred design experience with a focus on digital and end-to-end experience design
  • 2-3+ years in a senior design role across both agencies and in-house
  • Experience on design execution (on tools)
  • Experience in financial services, or similar industry, in a hands-on design role
  • Clear understanding of how to turn design research into tangible, actionable design outcomes
  • Proven experience influencing stakeholders
  • Experience creating and evolving process and systems to support customer centred design practices
    • Experience working in design projects with multi-disciplinary co-located Agile teams
    • Experience in people leadership and team management 
    • Understanding digital consumer behaviours/needs, emerging technologies, and financial products
