Position Purpose
Support the Manager Risk Analytics and Chief Risk Officer by developing and supporting models in R and VBA. Analyse energy market and derivatives data. Assist with operational process related to reports on markets, credit and compliance. Support business initiatives with insightful risk analysis.
 
Description

Analyst Developer
  • Develop and maintain technical/quantitative models in R/VBA/SQL for the energy market.
  • Ensure accuracy and relevance of information produced.
  • Capture all trading and other business activity within risk systems and models.
  • Use GIT for version control and implement sound documentation.
Operations – Market, Credit Risk, Governance and Compliance
  • Learn and assist in the performance of risk reporting, credit reporting, governance and compliance.
  • Learn energy markets, associated contracts and risk management practices.
  • Develop relationships with key internal and external business stakeholders including counterparties and liaise with them as required.
Health, safety, security & environment (HSSE)
  • Support business initiatives.
  • Participate and assist with risk related committees / working groups as required. Health, safety, security & environment (HSSE) Ongoing Support a culture of Zero Harm:

Position Requirements
 
Essential
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical discipline such as Engineering, Mathematics, Science, Technical Finance/Economics.
  • Modelling/analysis skills
  • Advanced Excel VBA, R, SQL, GIT
  • Ability to communicate well with a variety of stakeholders, write insightful reports, thrive in a dynamic work environment
  • Ability to take on a broad range of activities, ranging from technical modelling to committee management and compliance requirements
  • Experience in a modelling/analytics role
Desirable
  • Financial markets, statistics, derivatives knowledge
  • Programming
  • Relevant higher degree or specialised further education
