Looking for a Lead Designer who has experience management staff and hands on native app design, to join a leading financial services organisation.

As the lead Designer, you will be expected to work closely with the Design Manager to deliver customer journeys, design thinking, Lean UX, and product strategy, as well as guide the team.

 
This role is 50% hands on and 50% managing designers, there are currently 10 people in the team.
 
This is an initial 12 month fix term contract which will go permanent with a salary of $160K + super.

 
The role:
 
  • Work with XD Program Lead to execute on program deliverables to achieve desired business outcome
  • Produce XD design deliverables.
  • Hands on design including sketches, scenarios, storyboards, journey maps, wireframes, UI flows, paper prototypes, interactive prototypes, etc
  • Managing mid-level and senior designers
  • Provide on-demand rationale to support design decisions which include experience design principals and rationale for design decisions
  • Document design assets and clear annotations for passing down the delivery chain.
  • Run project meetings (e.g. daily stand ups), and other agile rituals. 
 
Requirements:
 
  • 7+ years of customer centred design experience with a focus on digital and end-to-end experience design
  • Expert in native app design
  • Experience managing a diverse team
  • Extensive Agile exposure
  • Experience in financial services, or similar industry, in a hands-on design role
  • Clear understanding of how to turn design research into tangible, actionable design outcomes
  • Experience working in design projects with multi-disciplinary co-located teams
