A unique opportunity has opened up for an accountant to join one of NSWs largest government agencies. The role is responsible for supporting the departments statutory and financial reporting obligations. Assist with the delivery of statutory financial statements and other matters related to the financial reporting function that accurately reflect the financial position of the organisation allowing senior management to make informd decisions.
Key deliverables include:
Support the preparation and analysis of reports to facilitate effective decision making with the aim of achieving the Departments goals and objectives.
Provide advice on critical issues related to statutory and financial reporting obligations, fixed assets, taxation and other related policy areas, and to help identify corporate risk.
Support the financial reporting function to ensure a high quality of financial reporting and accounting services are delivered with strategic alignment to the departments organisational objectives.
Assist in the oversight of reviewing, developing and implementing financial reporting systems including identification and mitigation of risks.
Support key internal and external stakeholder relationships to facilitate commitment to strategies and programs and provide financial reporting support to allow these stakeholders to meet financial obligations and priorities.
This role will suit individuals with the following key attributes:
CA/CPA fully or part qualified
Prior finance and accounting experience ideally will have been gained in a similar Assistant Accountant or Financial Accountant role
Experience working in a corporate work environment
High levels of motivation and an enthusiasm to learn and develop in a professional and collaborative environment.
Strong communication skills
