Our client is a leading Australian Insurance group and employer of choice. They are one of the largest insurers in the market and are very much in a growth phase. Furthermore, they provide a diverse and flexible working culture, Agile working environment and ability to work from home one day a week.

Due to a major acquisition they have a large integration program underway and as such require an experienced financial accountant with GL integration experience to join the finance project team on a long term contract basis. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager - Integration you will focus purely on project related activities including:
  • Detailed analysis and understanding of new entities’ existing financial reporting systems and processes
  • Assist with the set-up of new GL ledgers and Reporting units in relevant system
  • Mapping of GL accounts to GL & Group accounts
  • Assist with the design, documentation and implementation of post-completion Group/Local financial reporting processes.
  • Reconciliation of parallel General Ledgers and reporting outputs
  • Assist project / BAU team members with financial reporting tasks when required.
  • Interaction with the broader Finance and Project workstream teams to expand business and product knowledge
  • Involvement in other Finance related project tasks when required
This is a great opportunity to join a large insurance group which is growing significantly.  Initially this will be an 18 month contract but high chance of extending for a longer period of time.

Required skills and experience:
  • Qualified CA/CPA with at least 3-5 years of financial reporting experience
  • Experience within life or general insurance would be preferable (experience with large complex financial services company could also be considered)
  • Experience with integrating GL's and financial reporting processes
  • SAP experience preferable
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
