A government organisation is searching for a Data Scientist for a contract position until the end of the year to begin with - there is strong possibility of a extension.
The Data Scientist is required to contribute to a successful business intelligence strategy. This role will contribute through delivery of the following:
Data mining using state-of-the-art methods
Extending company’s data with third party sources of information when needed
Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
Will enable the development of structured data, which will enable information sharing to customers and partners
Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
Do ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner
Creating automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance
Alignment to internal Project Management standards
Align to the organisational change process to ensure engagement and overall transition to business-as-usual support as well as engaging with key stakeholders throughout the project life-cycle
Involve all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility in all designs built
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including analytic designs, data model, and data feeds
Anticipate, address and resolve issues or conflicts within the program governance structure
Identify, evaluate and manage risks and interdependencies
Identify and engage with key stakeholders throughout the organisation to ensure their ongoing buy-in and interest of the project and delivery outcomes.
Perform any other duties, tasks or projects the employer may assign, having regard to the incumbent’s skills, training and experience.
Degree in Information Technology or related field OR solid contemporary equivalent work experience combined with ongoing professional development including Licences and Certification with a data management, data analytics or data modelling focus.
Project Management certification such as PRINCE2, PMP, PMBOK or equivalent
