Our client is one of Australia's leading investment managers with a premium brand and diverse range of investment products. Furthermore they are one of Australia's leading employers with excellent employee engagement, flexible working environment (including one day per week from home) and Agile working model.

They are currently undergoing a major remediation project and as such are looking to hire an fund accountant or analyst with strong unit pricing background to join the project initially on a contract basis but with a view to becoming permanent after 6 months. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Remediation you will focus on:

  • Liaising with internal and external teams to understand complex unit pricing scenarios
  • Modelling complex errors at a client level including impact of securities, fees, time value and fund of funds
  • Preparation of business recommendation reports for remediation
  • Execution of remediation including client letters, cash payments, unit adjustments and accounting entries
  • Record keeping of remediation activities and updating of risk and compliance systems
  • Execution of control checks for unit pricing oversight of external administrators
  • Data interpretation and analysis with a strong client focus
  • Documenting and updating procedures
  • Provide support in developing and maintaining a continuous improvement mindset and increasing the risk and control
  • Be pro-active in understanding the workings of the portfolios, developing business knowledge through leverage of others and training courses to aid in process development & improvement.
  • Comply and work within the framework of the organisation’s policies and procedures.
  • Provide support in establishing and achieving the team’s goals through supporting team members, maintaining and contributing to a positive work environment; ensuring knowledge is shared and committing to personal development.

Required skills and experience:

  • 3+ years’ fund accounting or analytics experience in fund services or asset management
  • Experience in transforming or establishing new processes and executing projects
  • Sound knowledge of Accounting Standards
  • CA/CPA/CFA qualified or part qualified preferred
  • Keen problem solving skills, numerate and detailed focused
  • Strong Excel modelling skills
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders.
