Your Role

This is a highly analytical role, reporting Head of Customer Retention within the Platform and Superannuation team. You will be responsible driving strategy and utilising data to provide insights to support strategic decisions for marketing, retention, segmentation, product design and the optimisation of each customer’s journey. The role is required to understand data sources, and how to extract and interrogate data to provide insights & solutions to the team. The ability to build tools and reports and work closely with other analysts across the business is key to delivery.
In addition, this team is utilising an agile operating model with cross functional teams working together to deliver customer focused outcomes. Team members from Marketing, Analytics, Wealth, Analytics & Insights, Digital, Product, Retention and Technology work together enabled by an agile operating model to deliver service improvements and opportunities to help customers & advisers.
Key responsibilities 
  • Drive retention across all channels by owning the sales & retention data eco-system, identifying opportunities for improvement & providing key customer insights to help with strategic decisions;
  • Review opportunities to target segments of the Superannuation and Platforms customer base with relevant, personalised servicing communications, identifying the parameters, building the strategy and socialising the idea with the team and business partners to execute;
  • Proactive and relevant data investigation that supports the business strategy, developing a collaborative relationship with key business units and assisting in moving insights to execution through marketing, service or product design when relevant;
  • Optimisation and automation of any ongoing insights work, and implementation of this in the most efficient manner so that other team members can self-serve;
  • Engage stakeholders with commercially relevant insights derived from a variety of sources including Customer Data and external public data;
  • Use fact based story-telling to present powerful and actionable insights, aligned to business strategy and audience;
  • Develop and upskill members of your team in all areas of stakeholder management, business prioritisation, data capability and identify training and development resources to enable a broader skillset within the team.

To be Successful
  • You’ll need extensive experience in a data analytics / strategic insights role, delivering solutions in a commercial environment using relational databases and analytical tools.
  • Senior stakeholder management with demonstrable ability to simplify complex concepts for business audiences.
  • Strong Analytical skills and insight capability. Ability to bring together data sources, query and interrogate data to develop insights and solutions for the business.
  • Experience in leveraging data to manage and enhance the customer journey through online and offline channels
  • Data insight and analytics/segmentation experience. Ability to interpret and disseminate insights from data.
  • Knowledge of the superannuation industry and wealth/banking products is highly desirable
  • Leadership experience managing teams with strong presentation and communication skills
  • Experience working in an Agile delivery environment (not essential but would be an advantage)
  • Campaign/Initiative creation and execution experience
  • A clear ability to generate insights from data, engage and communicate those insights to non-technical business stakeholders.
  • Commercial acumen, a demonstrable ability to learn complex business value drivers and apply your understanding to your team’s deliverables.

Technology Capabilities
  • Advanced SAS or SQL skills (including SAS EG)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Modelling capabilities preferred
  • Experience in analytical tools such as Tableau, QlikView, and Python
